I was surf around on the Net tonight and found this link to a story about a man with Down Syndrome who is a fitness coach to others who experience Down Syndrome and some other disabilities. It is such an inspiration I want to share it with you.
It is so important that we look to what our children can do more than what they can't and try to help them do what they love most.

This is so true! And thanks for talking about this vital point here.
Have you heard of the theory of Multiple Intelligences? It says that there are 8 different types of intelligences and every individual is intelligent differently. Howard Gardner, who postulated this theory says "It's not how smart you are, it is HOW YOU ARE SMART"
It's therefore important that every parent takes care to identify this unique intelligence of their child, focus on developing and nurturing them.
While this theory is very relevant and useful for the universe of children it carries a special significance in the lives of differently abled children.
